My name is Dennis V. Stanley.  This web site is maintained to help researchers find information on our families in the hope that by sharing information, we will learn more about where we've come from and honor those that came before. Although we cannot claim that all information contained herein is True, we can assure the reader that a fair amount of effort has been made to support the data included here. The Horsethieves family web site is divided into two main parts:

• Part One is devoted to the Stanley / Channell families (maintained by Dennis Stanley)
• Part Two is devoted to the Lindquist / Stomp families (maintained by Teresa Lindquist)

Some people have questioned the use of the "horsethieves" name.  The name is derived from a conversation I once had with my grandfather, Albert Channell Jr. He told me that if I researched the family too far I'd find they were all murderers and horse-thieves.  Although he wasn't serious, in the 20+ years I've been collecting this information, I have found many colorful characters (and at least one person that stole a horse...once).  If you are truly interested in finding real horse-thieves, you might want to start on another page.
