DEVENNYs

Percifer D. Devinney (c1806-)
Pierce Hall Devinney (c1855-1896)
Annie E. Devenny (1874-1945)

I do not know very much about the Devenny family.

Percifer D. Devinney (283) was born circa 1806 at Pennsylvania, USA. He married Rachel (--?--) (289).

Children of Percifer D. Devinney and Rachel (--?--) were as follows:

  1. Pierce Hall Devinney (283) was born circa 1855 at New Brighton, Pennsylvania, USA. He married Sarah Weaver (284) on 14 May 1874 at the residence of Pastor G. G. Westfall, Beaver Falls, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA.
  2. Thomas H. Devinney (15702) was born circa 1857 at Pennsylvania, USA.

Note: A great deal of creative speculation has been spent on this last excerpt (1850 Federal Census). Percifer D. Devinney is easy enough to identify, but it appears that the household could also be crawling with half-a-dozen other blood relatives of the Devinney clan. Assuming that Elizabeth Devinney is Percifer's mother and the mother-in-law to the head of the household (neither of which is unlikely due to her age and place in the listing), Percifer could be the brother of both Eliza (Willis) and Mary Ann (Hall). If this is the case (hopefully, further research will shed light on this) then Mary Ann Willis, John D. Willis, and Percifer D. Hall might all be nieces and nephews. John Murphy, the last member of the household, is listed as "pauper" (cropped).
