FERRYs

John Ferry (--?--)
Elizabeth E. Ferry (1864-1937)

I do not know much about the Ferry family.

Diary

12 Feb 2005, Following a lead from a 1904 article of the 'Delta Herald & Times' I went to Texas, Maryland to look through some cemeteries and try to find evidence of the Ferry family. I found little useful. At the public library I learned that Texas has undergone many name changes, including Ellangowan. Next stop, the Historical Society of Baltimore County.

Elizabeth E. Ferry (112) was born on 17 Mar 1864 at Maryland, USA. She and George Washington Channell (111), son of Allen A. Channell (138) and Sarah Rebecca Metcalf (139), were married by Pastor W. Stevens of Princess St. Me E Church, and witnessed by A. R. Decker on 23 Aug 1883 at Fawn Grove, York County, Pennsylvania, USA. She died of "chronic bronchitis followed by influenza and bronchial pneumonia" on 13 Apr 1937 at home, Fawn Grove, York County, Pennsylvania, USA, at age 73. She was buried on 18 Apr 1937 at Fawn Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fawn Grove, York County, Pennsylvania, USA.
