GILLIAMs

Isaac Gilliam (c1848- )
Nancy E. Gilliam (1817-1928)

There are a number of Gilliam branches in the southwest Virginia region, but I have yet to be to tie Lizzie Gilliam into one of them.

Diary

30 Mar 2005, it looks like Lizzie's family moved around quite a bit. Lizzie was born in Kentucky, her older and younger siblings were born in Virginia. It appears that within a year of the 1870 census, the family moved again, this time to West Virginia.

Nancy Elizabeth Gilliam (110) was born in Aug 1871 at Kentucky, USA. "Lizzie" and Noah Larkin Stanley (109) were granted license to marry on 10 Jul 1891 at Dickenson County, Virginia, USA. She married Noah Larkin Stanley (109), son of Isabelle Elizabeth Stanley (183), on 11 Jul 1891 at Dickenson County, Virginia, USA. She and William P. Wallen (335) were granted license to marry on 21 Aug 1902 at Wise County, Virginia, USA. She married William P. Wallen (335), son of Baxter Wallen (6789) and Liddy (--?--) (6790), at Wise County, Virginia, USA. She died circa 1928 at Dante, Virginia, USA.

Rose (134) and Nancy Caroline Salyer (135), were married by Elder, J. C. Smith on 4 Apr 1911 at Primitive Baptist Church, Dante, Dickenson County, Virginia, USA.
  2. Rosa Belle Stanley (336) was born in Oct 1893 at Wise County, Virginia, USA. She married James M. Kelly (337), son of William Kelly (339) and Easter (--?--) (340), on 11 Jan 1908 at Wise County, Virginia, USA. She married Thomas Berry Hall (338).

There were no children of Nancy Elizabeth Gilliam and William P. Wallen.

Note:  At the time of her death, [James C. Stanley, Bureda Stanley, and Cynthia R. Stanley] were the only grandchildren Elizabeth Gilliam had.  She called Aunt Rosie B. Hall to her bedside and told her to take care of her babies.
