Note: Betty Senft refused to speak much about her first marriage. It is speculated based on what little she did impart, that her first husband Heins (--?--) was well-placed within the NSDAP, allowing her to travel widely through occupied Europe during the war.
Note: James C. Stanley and Betty Senft met during the war trials that followed the commencement of the Second World War in Germany. Betty worked with translating while James worked in the military courts. Following his tour, James brought Betty with him to the States, settling in Tennessee in the 1950s. In 1963, Betty and James adopted Pete.
